AEM Insulation Bush — High-Temperature
Insulation bush moulded in AEM — −40 to +160 °C continuous with excursions to +175 °C, and resistant to hot oil — for underhood and engine-bay positions where nitrile and neoprene harden and crack. Moulded to your drawing at our ISO 9001:2015 plant in Nashik.

Rubber Compound Options

Compound
AEM
Ethylene Acrylic Elastomer (Vamac)
Temperature range
−40 to +175 °C continuous to +160 °C
50–80 Shore A
For this part
The reason this part exists. Heat and hot oil, at a fraction of FKM’s cost. Low compression set, so it keeps its grip in the housing
Compound
FKM
Fluoroelastomer (Viton)
Temperature range
−20 to +250 °C continuous to +200 °C
60–90 Shore A
For this part
Where the position exceeds +160 °C sustained. Two to three times the cost per part, and it stops at −20 °C — a cold-start problem AEM does not have
Compound
Silicone
Vinyl Methyl Silicone (VMQ)
Temperature range
−60 to +220 °C
30–80 Shore A
For this part
Wider range than AEM, but it swells in mineral oil and tears easily. Specify only where the position is dry
Compound
NBR
Nitrile Butadiene Rubber
Temperature range
−30 to +120 °C
40–90 Shore A
For this part
Good oil resistance at lower cost. Specify only below +120 °C — above it, this is the compound that hardens
Compound
Neoprene
Polychloroprene (CR)
Temperature range
−40 to +120 °C
40–90 Shore A
For this part
General purpose, good weathering. Same +120 °C ceiling
Compound
EPDM
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer
Temperature range
−40 to +140 °C
40–90 Shore A
For this part
Higher than NBR and neoprene, but swells in mineral oil — wrong for an underhood bush in oil mist
Compound
SBR
Styrene Butadiene Rubber
Temperature range
−30 to +100 °C
40–90 Shore A
For this part
Lowest ceiling of the eight and poor oil resistance — the opposite of what this part needs
Compound
Natural Rubber
Polyisoprene (NR)
Temperature range
−20 to +90 °C
30–80 Shore A
For this part
Excellent mechanically, but +90 °C and it swells in oil — it will not survive an engine bay

Key advantages
Why Specifiers Choose Margo
The gap between neoprene and Viton
Nitrile and neoprene stop at +120 °C. FKM reaches +250 °C and costs two to three times more. AEM covers the 120–160 °C band that most underhood parts actually sit in.
Heat and oil, not heat alone
EPDM handles the temperature and swells in mineral oil. AEM resists hot oil, ATF and glycol as well as heat — which is the combination an engine bay actually presents.
Low compression set
A bush that takes a set works loose in its housing and starts fretting. AEM holds its shape hot — and we test compression set to ASTM D395 Method B in-house.
We mix AEM ourselves
It is one of the eight compounds we mix in-house, not a bought-in blend. Few Indian moulders carry it at all — which is usually why a bush like this gets over-specified to FKM.
Industries served
Global Applications
Automotive
Engine bay, turbo and transmission positions
Oil & Gas
Static seals and bushes for hot-oil surface equipment
Heavy Industry
Bushes and mounts near engines, compressors and hydraulic packs, where ambient temperature is the constraint
Infrastructure
Plant and generator-set mounting bushes
Manufacturing process
From Compound to Certification
Material compounding
Polymer blending, additive integration and batch QC in our in-house lab. AEM is mixed here, not bought in as a ready compound — which is why the grade can be set to the position rather than to a catalogue.
Mould design & CNC
Precision steel tooling manufactured in-house and held as a controlled record.
Compression and transfer moulding
Transfer where a metal sleeve is bonded into the bush.
Post-cure & trimming
Oven post-cure for dimensional stability. AEM requires a proper post-cure to reach its full heat resistance, and an under-cured part will not hold +160 °C.
Quality inspection
Dimensional check, hardness testing and batch sampling before release. Bore, OD and bond integrity are what is checked.
Export packaging
Industrial packing with documentation. ISPM-15 treated pallets where timber packaging is used. Bonded bushes are packed so nothing bears on the rubber between the metal faces.
Quality assurance
Certified to International Standards
Every product leaves our facility with a documentation package — material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance — giving traceability from raw material to finished part.

Technical & Commercial Questions
Answers to the most common questions from engineering teams and procurement managers worldwide.
What is the minimum order quantity for this part?
We supply in bulk. The minimum run is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound, or quoted against the part where geometry or tooling makes that unrealistic. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum.
Can you match a competitor specification or reverse-engineer an existing part?
Yes. Send the sample or the drawing and we will produce a dimensioned drawing and confirm compound before tooling. If the sample has hardened in service, tell us — a bush that has aged has also shrunk, and we dimension to the original, not to the aged part.
What file formats do you accept for drawings?
PDF, DWG, DXF and STEP. A dimensioned 2D drawing with tolerances is enough to quote; a 3D model helps with tooling. If you only have a sample, send the sample — we will produce the drawing.
Do you provide material test reports with each shipment?
Yes. Material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance ship with every consignment. Hardness, tensile to ASTM D412 and compression set to ASTM D395 Method B are tested in-house. For AEM we can also report heat-ageing and fluid-immersion results against your service condition.
What are your payment and delivery terms for international orders?
TT and LC accepted, discussed per order. Ex-works Nashik or FOB Nhava Sheva. Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are issued with every consignment.

Need this part quoted?
Send your drawing or a sample, with the peak sustained temperature at the bush. We confirm compound, hardness and tolerance, then quote against your annual quantity. We respond within 48 hours.
