Custom Rubber Grommets,
Manufactured in India
Margo Rubber Products moulds cable and panel pass-through grommets at its ISO 9001:2015 certified plant in Nashik, India — open, blind, multi-hole, oval and bulkhead configurations from 6 mm panel hole upward, cut to print above that. Any of our eight compounds, at any size in the range.

What size rubber grommet do I need?
Size it from the panel hole and the panel thickness: 6–12 mm holes take a 1.0–1.6 mm panel. 12–25 mm holes take 1.2–2.0 mm, and 25–50 mm holes take 1.6–3.0 mm. Margo moulds open, blind, multi-hole and oval grommets in that range. Holes above 50 mm and bulkhead grommets are cut to print, in any of eight compounds.
02 · SPECIFICATION REFERENCE
Grommet Sizes and Configurations
A grommet is specified by three dimensions: the panel hole it sits in, the thickness of that panel, and the cable or bore it has to pass. Send those with the drawing and we will quote it. Compound is a separate choice — any of our eight is available at any size in the range.
| 6–12 mm | 1.0–1.6 mm | Open, blind | Any of the eight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12–25 mm | 1.2–2.0 mm | Open, blind, multi-hole | Any of the eight |
| 25–50 mm | 1.6–3.0 mm | Open, blind, multi-hole, oval | Any of the eight |
| Above 50 mm | Per drawing | Cut to print | Any of the eight |
| Oval / slotted | 1.0–3.0 mm | Flat cable and loom | Any of the eight |
| Bulkhead / firewall | Per drawing | Sealed pass-through | Any of the eight |
Showing 6 of 6 entries. Groove width is the thickness of your panel — measure the sheet, not the hole. The bore is set by the cable or pipe passing through, and is quoted from your drawing rather than fixed by the panel hole. Dimensional conformity to ISO 3302-1, class M1 to M4, as recorded on the drawing. Values are typical for the size band and are not a specification for a particular part; see our technical disclaimer.
03 · MATERIAL SELECTION
Which Grommet Material Do I Need?
A grommet is chosen for what it sits in and what it touches: the panel environment, the temperature at the aperture, and whether there is oil, fuel or weather on either side. Name those and we will tell you which to specify — and every compound below is available at every size we make.
- Temp. Range
- −40° to +140°C
- Hardness
- 40–90 Shore A
Ethylene propylene diene rubber, and the default for a grommet that sees weather, water, steam or coolant. Excellent ozone and UV resistance, so it holds an outdoor or engine-bay aperture for years without hardening at the lip. Not for petroleum oils.
- Temp. Range
- −30° to +120°C
- Hardness
- 40–90 Shore A
Nitrile butadiene rubber, the general-purpose industry standard. Outstanding resistance to petroleum oils and hydraulic fluids at moderate temperature — the choice for a grommet on the oil side of a housing or gearbox.
- Temp. Range
- −40° to +120°C
- Hardness
- 40–90 Shore A
Polychloroprene. The compound most grommet enquiries settle on, because it takes weather, ozone and moderate oil at the same time — the condition an exposed panel aperture actually lives in. Also the family we reach for when flame retardancy is specified.
- Temp. Range
- −60° to +220°C
- Hardness
- 30–80 Shore A
Vinyl methyl silicone, the widest service range of the eight. Specified for grommets at hot apertures and in lighting, oven and appliance panels. Biocompatible and food-contact grades on request. Poor abrasion resistance — not for a cable that moves against the bore.
- Temp. Range
- −40° to +175°C continuous to 160°C
- Hardness
- 50–80 Shore A
Ethylene acrylic elastomer. Specified for a bulkhead or engine-bay grommet where oil, heat and ozone act together and neither EPDM nor nitrile will hold.
- Temp. Range
- −20° to +250°C continuous to 200°C
- Hardness
- 60–90 Shore A
Fluorocarbon rubber, the first choice for aggressive chemical environments. Resists petroleum oils, fuels and many solvents at sustained high temperature. On a grommet it is a specialist answer — specify it when the aperture is in a chemical or fuel environment, not as a default.
- Temp. Range
- −30° to +100°C
- Hardness
- 40–90 Shore A
Styrene butadiene rubber. Abrasion resistance at low cost, for grommets in water and mild service where the part protects a cable edge rather than seals an environment. Not for oil or fuel contact.
- Temp. Range
- −20° to +90°C
- Hardness
- 30–80 Shore A
Polyisoprene. The highest resilience of the eight, so it grips a panel groove hard and keeps gripping — useful on a grommet that has to stay put through vibration. Not for oil, fuel or sustained heat.

Lead Times and How We Quote
Margo produces in bulk against OEM schedules. Send the panel hole, the panel thickness, the bore and the compound with your volume, and we will quote it. Minimum run is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound, or quoted against the part where size or complexity sets the economics. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum and are quoted separately.
