Rubber seals and gaskets for EV battery packs, energy storage and renewable power

For EV pack and charger makers, battery energy storage (BESS) integrators, solar junction-box and inverter makers, and wind and small-hydro equipment builders. Pack and cabinet gaskets, cable-entry grommets and O-rings, junction-box seals and gearbox shaft seals, all made to your drawing at our plant in Vilholi, Nashik. Margo supplies 13 industries from 16 product lines; these are the parts energy-equipment makers ask us for.

Key facts

EV and energy-storage gaskets are the lid, door and cable-entry seals that keep water and dust out of battery packs, BESS cabinets, solar junction boxes and inverters. Margo Rubber makes them to the builder’s drawing in Vilholi, Nashik, in silicone, EPDM, neoprene (CR) or NBR.

Margo Rubber moulds one-piece gaskets up to 24 × 24 inches (about 610 × 610 mm). Larger pack and cabinet outlines are made as an extruded profile with joined corners, so a large cabinet door seal does not need one oversized mould.

A gasket alone cannot make an enclosure IP67. IEC 60529 rates the tested enclosure, so the gasket, the lid stiffness, the bolt spacing and the closing force are rated together. Margo Rubber sizes the gasket section and compression from the lid drawing, and holds no UL listing.

02 · COMPONENTS

Made to your enclosure, not picked from a catalogue

We don’t hold generic stock. A pack lid or cabinet door has its own outline, so every gasket is made to your drawing or a sample, with the mating parts if you have them.

03 · APPLICATIONS

Where these parts go

EV battery packs and chargers

Lid and housing gaskets on long, flat joints that see wash spray and road dust.

Battery energy storage cabinets

Door and panel gaskets on outdoor cabinets, plus cable-entry grommets.

Solar junction boxes and inverters

EPDM gaskets chosen for UV and ozone on outdoor boxes.

Wind turbine auxiliaries

Shaft seals, V-rings and bonded mounts on gearboxes and yaw drives.

Small-hydro equipment

Shaft seals and pads on turbines and their control gear.

04 · COMPOUND

Outdoor, hot or oily: the joint decides the compound

Tell us where the enclosure lives and what touches the seal. That picks the compound before the shape does.

Silicone−60 to +200 °CPack gaskets near heat, to +200 °C.
EPDM−40 to +140 °COutdoor, UV and ozone.
Neoprene (CR)−40 to +120 °CCable entry and weather.
NBR−30 to +120 °CGearbox shaft seals.

05 · QUALITY

Every batch. Every shipment.

Every consignment ships with a material test report, a dimensional inspection sheet and a certificate of conformance. Hardness, tensile and elongation (ASTM D412), density, compression set (ASTM D395 Method B), heat ageing, ozone resistance, fluid swell and low-temperature tests run in our own lab, and cure curves run on our own ODR rheometer. PPAP is available on request. RoHS declarations are issued for all compounds.

QUALITY SYSTEM

ISO 9001:2015

Certificate 09111526A, Integral Certification Ltd. Scope: moulded rubber components; extruded and sheet-cut parts are outside it.

INGRESS

IEC 60529

The IP rating belongs to the tested enclosure, not to the gasket on its own.

FLAMMABILITY

UL 94

Name the rating on the drawing. We hold no UL listing.

SPONGE GRADES

ASTM D1056 / ASTM D6576

Sponge gasket grades; put the one your drawing uses.

06 · FAQ

Questions EV, Energy Storage & Renewables buyers ask us

Do you have UL 94 rated grades?

We hold no UL listing. Tell us the rating your drawing names and we confirm whether a compound route exists.

Will your gasket make my pack IP67?

No gasket can promise that alone. IEC 60529 rates the tested enclosure: the gasket, the lid stiffness, the bolt spacing and the closing force together. Send the lid drawing and we size the section and compression for it.

Do you have stock sizes?

Made to your drawing. A new part needs a new mould, so send the drawing (or a sample and the mating parts) first.

How large a gasket can you mould in one piece?

Up to 24 × 24 inches (about 610 × 610 mm). Larger pack and cabinet outlines are made as an extruded profile with joined corners.

What is the minimum order for battery-pack and enclosure gaskets?

There is no fixed number. The minimum is set by part size and tooling, and we quote it with the part. Send the drawing and your annual volume and you get both figures in one reply. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum.

07 · ENQUIRIES

Ready to specify components from the Nashik plant?

Send the drawing, an existing part, or the equipment make and model, with the enclosure environment, the service temperature and your annual volume. Our engineering team replies within 48 hours with a compound and hardness recommendation, tooling status and a quotation.
