Key facts

Margo Rubber moulds 11 types of rubber mat in solid rubber at its plant in Vilholi, Nashik: car floor and boot mats, mud flaps, anti-fatigue, IS 15652 electrical insulating, ribbed, checker, coin, diamond-pattern, anti-vibration and drainage mats. None has a PVC, TPE or foam layer.

Margo Rubber makes electrical insulating mats to IS 15652, which, as amended in Amendment No. 2, sets three classes: Class A for use up to 3.3 kV at 2.0 mm thick, Class B to 11 kV at 2.5 mm and Class C to 33 kV at 3.0 mm.

What lands on a rubber mat decides its compound. Margo Rubber specifies natural rubber or SBR for dry floors and vehicles, EPDM (−40 to +140 °C) for sun and wash-down water, and NBR (−30 to +120 °C) where oil, fuel or coolant reaches the mat.

08 · WHY MARGO

Why Specifiers Choose Margo

  • Solid rubber, all the way through

Some car and floor mats sold as rubber are TPE or PVC. Ours are rubber through the full thickness, so the pattern does not wear through to a different material.

  • The floor decides the compound

Natural rubber swells in oil. We ask what lands on the mat, oil, water, coolant or sun, and fluid swell is tested in our lab before we name the compound for an oily floor.

  • Your pattern, your outline

Ribs, checker, coins, diamonds or your own tread, with the outline, lip and holes moulded in. Your drawing, your template or a sample mat is enough to start.

  • Same lab as our seals

Every mat comes from compounds mixed in-house and checked on our own ODR rheometer, with the same test report as our moulded gaskets.

09 · APPLICATIONS

Where rubber mats are used

10 · PROCESS

From Compound to Shipment

  1. 01

    Material compounding

Polymer, fillers and cure system mixed in-house for what lands on the mat and the temperature. Cure is checked on our ODR rheometer.

  2. 02

    Tool design

A press tool cut with your outline, pattern and edge, and held as a controlled record. When the tool exists, first samples take 48–72 hours.

  3. 03

    Moulding

Compression moulded in solid rubber, so the pattern and the body are one piece.

  4. 04

    Trimming

Flash trimmed; holes and slots punched where the drawing calls for them.

  5. 05

    Inspection

Outline, thickness and hardness against the drawing, with batch sampling. Electrical mats are measured for the thickness of their class; the dielectric and proof-voltage tests IS 15652 requires are confirmed with the quote.

  6. 06

    Export packing

Packed flat by part number, with labels that match the inspection sheet. ISPM-15 treated pallets where timber is used.

11 · QUALITY

Tested in Our Own Lab, Documented in Every Shipment

Every consignment ships with a material test report, a dimensional inspection sheet and a certificate of conformance. Hardness, tensile and elongation (ASTM D412), density, compression set (ASTM D395 Method B), heat ageing, ozone resistance, fluid swell and low-temperature tests run in our own lab, and cure curves run on our own ODR rheometer. PPAP is available on request. RoHS declarations are issued for all compounds.

13 · FAQ

Technical & Commercial Questions

What is the minimum order for rubber mats?

There is no fixed number. The minimum is set by part size and tooling, and we quote it with the part. Send the drawing and your annual volume and you get both figures in one reply. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum.

What is the largest mat you can make in one piece?

Mat size is set by our press. Send the floor size and we confirm one piece or joined sections in the quote.

Are your mats pure rubber or PVC?

Solid rubber through the full thickness: natural rubber, SBR, EPDM, NBR, neoprene or another of our eight compounds. We do not make PVC, TPE or foam-backed mats.

Which IS 15652 class do I need for an 11 kV panel?

Class B. IS 15652 rates Class B mats for use up to 11 kV, at 2.5 mm thick. Class A covers up to 3.3 kV and Class C up to 33 kV.

Can you copy a car mat or mud flap from a sample?

Yes. Post us the mat or flap, or a paper template of the floor, and we draw it for your approval before we cut the tool.

Do you send test reports with each shipment?

Yes, with every consignment: material test report, dimensional inspection sheet and certificate of conformance. Hardness, tensile to ASTM D412 and compression set to ASTM D395 Method B are tested in-house.

15 · ENQUIRIES
