Bumper Stopper — Rubber Bump Stop

Moulded rubber bump stop — limits travel and absorbs the impact at the end of it on bonnets, boot lids, doors, linkages and panel closures. Moulded to your drawing or sample at our ISO 9001:2015 plant in Nashik.

Key advantages

Why Specifiers Choose Margo

  • It fails by setting, not by wearing

A stop that takes a permanent set loses free height — the lid sits low, the shut line opens, and the complaint comes back as a rattle. Compression set is the property to specify.

  • Free height is the specification

Not hardness. A soft tall stop and a hard short one absorb the same energy and feel completely different doing it. Send the free height and the energy — or the sample.

  • Moulded rubber, not polyurethane

We make moulded rubber stops for closures, panels and linkages. We do not make microcellular polyurethane jounce bumpers — that is a different material on different plant.

  • Bonded inserts in-house

Push-in, screw-fit or bonded to a steel plate — rubber-to-metal bonding is done here, so the mould and the bond are one process under one set of batch records.

Industries served

Global Applications

  • Automotive

    Seals, mounts, vibration dampers

  • Heavy Industry

Panel and access-door stops on plant, and buffers on conveyors and material-handling equipment

  • Infrastructure

Panel, access-door and hatch stops on site cabinets and enclosures

Manufacturing process

From Compound to Certification

  1. Material compounding

Polymer blending, additive integration and batch QC in our in-house lab. Rebound and fatigue life are set here — a stop is struck thousands of times and has to return to height after each one.

  2. Mould design & CNC

Precision steel tooling manufactured in-house and held as a controlled record.

  3. Compression moulding

Hydraulic press cycles at controlled temperature and pressure. Correct for this part, and transfer moulded where a steel plate is bonded in.

  4. Post-cure & trimming

Oven post-cure for dimensional stability, followed by flash trimming. Post-cure matters on this part: an under-cured stop takes a set faster.

  5. Quality inspection

Dimensional check, hardness testing and batch sampling before release. Free height is the dimension checked.

  6. Export packaging

Industrial packing with documentation. ISPM-15 treated pallets where timber packaging is used. Stops are packed loose; rubber stored under compression takes a set and loses free height.

Quality assurance

Certified to International Standards

Every product leaves our facility with a documentation package — material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance — giving traceability from raw material to finished part.

FAQ

Technical & Commercial Questions

Answers to the most common questions from engineering teams and procurement managers worldwide.

  • What is the minimum order quantity for this part?

We supply in bulk. The minimum run is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound, or quoted against the part where geometry or tooling makes that unrealistic. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum.

  • Can you match a competitor specification or reverse-engineer an existing part?

Yes. Send the physical sample or the drawing and we will produce a dimensioned drawing and confirm compound before tooling. A used bump stop has taken a set and measures short — we dimension to the original free height, not to the compressed sample, and confirm with you first.

  • What file formats do you accept for drawings?

PDF, DWG, DXF and STEP. A dimensioned 2D drawing with tolerances is enough to quote; a 3D model helps with tooling. If you only have a sample, send the sample — we will produce the drawing.

  • Do you provide material test reports with each shipment?

Yes. Material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance ship with every consignment. Hardness, tensile to ASTM D412 and compression set to ASTM D395 Method B are tested in-house — on this part, compression set is the one to ask for.

  • What are your payment and delivery terms for international orders?

TT and LC accepted, discussed per order. Ex-works Nashik or FOB Nhava Sheva. Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are issued with every consignment.
