EPDM Gaskets — Weather, Steam and Water Service

EPDM gaskets for weather, steam and water service — −40 to +140 °C, with the ozone and UV resistance general-purpose rubber does not have. Moulded or die-cut to your drawing, or to ASME B16.21, AWWA C111 and EN 681-1 dimensions, at our plant in Nashik.

Key advantages

Why Specifiers Choose Margo

  • Water, steam and weather

EPDM is the compound for anything wet or outdoors — hot water, steam, glycol, brake fluid, and years of UV and ozone without perishing.

  • Not for mineral oil

EPDM swells badly in oil. If the joint sees oil or fuel, specify NBR; above +120 °C, FKM. Saying so is cheaper than a failed joint.

  • To the flange standard you specify

ASME B16.21 for nonmetallic flat gaskets, AWWA C111/A21.11 for ductile-iron pipe joints, EN 681-1 for water and drainage seals — or to your own drawing.

  • Potable water needs a named approval

Approval is granted to a specific compound formulation, not to “EPDM”. Tell us which scheme your market requires — WRAS, NSF/ANSI 61, AS/NZS 4020 — and we will confirm what we can supply against it.

Manufacturing process

From Compound to Certification

  1. Material compounding

Polymer blending, additive integration and batch QC in our in-house lab. The cure system is set here — peroxide-cured EPDM where the joint sees steam or hot water, sulphur-cured where it does not.

  2. Tool or die design

Moulds for shaped gaskets, cutting dies for flat ones, made in-house and held as a controlled record.

  3. Moulding or sheet calendering

Shaped gaskets compression moulded; flat gaskets cured as sheet to the specified thickness.

  4. Die-cutting or trimming

Flat gaskets cut to the flange profile and bolt pattern; moulded gaskets flash-trimmed.

  5. Quality inspection

Dimensional check against the flange standard, hardness testing and batch sampling. Bolt-hole pitch is what is checked.

  6. Export packaging

Industrial packing with documentation. ISPM-15 treated pallets where timber packaging is used. Flat gaskets are packed flat and interleaved, never stacked under load.

Quality assurance

Certified to International Standards

Every product leaves our facility with a documentation package — material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance — giving traceability from raw material to finished part.

FAQ

Technical & Commercial Questions

Answers to the most common questions from engineering teams and procurement managers worldwide.

  • What is the minimum order quantity for this part?

We supply in bulk. The minimum run is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound, or quoted against the part where geometry or tooling makes that unrealistic. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum.

  • Can you match a competitor specification or reverse-engineer an existing part?

Yes. Send the sample gasket or the flange standard and nominal bore. An in-service gasket has taken a compression set and measures thinner than it was cut — we specify to the original thickness, not to the compressed sample.

  • What file formats do you accept for drawings?

PDF, DWG and DXF. For a flange gasket the standard and the nominal bore are often enough — ASME B16.21, AWWA C111 or EN 681-1 — and we will cut to the dimensional tables. A 3D model is not required.

  • Do you provide material test reports with each shipment?

Yes. Material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance ship with every consignment. Hardness, tensile to ASTM D412 and compression set to ASTM D395 Method B are tested in-house.

  • What are your payment and delivery terms for international orders?

TT and LC accepted, discussed per order. Ex-works Nashik or FOB Nhava Sheva. Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are issued with every consignment.

Need this part quoted?

Send your drawing, a sample gasket, or just the flange standard and bore. We confirm compound, hardness and profile, then quote against your annual quantity. We respond within 48 hours.
