C-Pillar Garnish Seal — EPDM Hard Foam

High-density closed-cell EPDM foam seal for C-pillar trim garnish — takes up the gap between garnish and body panel, stops the trim buzzing, and blocks wind noise and water from tracking along the pillar. Produced to your drawing at our plant in Nashik.

Key advantages

Why Specifiers Choose Margo

  • Seals at almost no closing force

A trim clip cannot generate the clamp a solid gasket needs. Closed-cell foam seals at a fraction of it — which is the whole reason this part is foam and not rubber.

  • Closed-cell, not open-cell

Open-cell sponge wicks water straight through the joint it is meant to seal. On a pillar that drains into the body cavity, that is the difference between a seal and a leak path.

  • Specified by density, not durometer

Foam is bought on density, compression force deflection and ASTM D1056 grade. Send the gap range and the closing force and we will specify the rest.

  • Moulded or die-cut

Moulded to shape for a complex section, or die-cut from sponge sheet for a flat profile — with self-adhesive backing applied if you want it fitted in one action on the line.

Industries served

Global Applications

  • Automotive

Trim and body sealing — pillars, garnishes, tailgates and lamp housings

  • Infrastructure

Closed-cell foam gap seals for windows, doors, panels and access covers

  • Heavy Industry

Enclosure, cabinet and access-panel gap seals on plant

Manufacturing process

From Compound to Certification

  1. Material compounding

Polymer blending, additive integration and batch QC in our in-house lab. The blowing agent and its loading are set here, and they are what fix the density.

  2. Tool or die design

Moulds for a shaped seal, cutting dies for a flat one, made in-house and held as a controlled record.

  3. Expansion and cure

The compound is blown to the specified density and cured, then moulded to shape or calendered to sheet.

  4. Die-cutting or trimming

Flat seals die-cut to profile from sheet; moulded seals flash-trimmed. Self-adhesive backing laminated at this stage if specified.

  5. Quality inspection

Density, compression force deflection and dimensional check before release.

  6. Export packaging

Industrial packing with documentation. ISPM-15 treated pallets where timber packaging is used. Foam is packed uncompressed; sponge stored under load takes a set that does not recover.

Quality assurance

Certified to International Standards

Every product leaves our facility with a documentation package — material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance — giving traceability from raw material to finished part.

FAQ

Technical & Commercial Questions

Answers to the most common questions from engineering teams and procurement managers worldwide.

  • What is the minimum order quantity for this part?

We supply in bulk. The minimum run is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound, or quoted against the part where geometry or tooling makes that unrealistic. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum.

  • Can you match a competitor specification or reverse-engineer an existing part?

Yes. Send a sample of the existing seal and we will measure density, section and compression behaviour, then match it. A used foam seal has taken a compression set and measures thinner than it was made — we specify to the original free thickness, not to the compressed sample.

  • What file formats do you accept for drawings?

PDF, DWG and DXF. For a die-cut seal a flat profile with tolerances is all we need — a 3D model is not required. If you only have a sample, send the sample.

  • Do you provide material test reports with each shipment?

Yes. Material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance ship with every consignment. For sponge we report density and compression behaviour to ASTM D1056 rather than solid-rubber hardness.

  • What are your payment and delivery terms for international orders?

TT and LC accepted, discussed per order. Ex-works Nashik or FOB Nhava Sheva. Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are issued with every consignment.

Need this part quoted?

Send your profile or a sample seal, with the joint gap range. We confirm compound, density and cut profile, then quote against your annual quantity. We respond within 48 hours.
