Rear Windscreen Glazing Rubber — SUV Platform

Glazing rubber for the rear windscreen — holds the backlight in its aperture, seals it against water and wind noise, and lets the glass move as the body flexes. Extruded and corner-moulded to your drawing at our plant in Nashik. Dimensionally equivalent to the backlight glazing rubber used on Bolero-class SUV platforms. Supplied to your drawing or sample.

Key advantages

Why Specifiers Choose Margo

  • Ozone is what kills a window rubber

Not sunlight and not water — ozone attacking a rubber held in permanent tension. EPDM resists it; NBR, SBR and natural rubber do not.

  • Sized to the glass and the flange

The seal is interference between glass, rubber and aperture flange. Send all three, or a length of the old rubber — a channel cut for 4 mm glass leaks on 3.8 mm.

  • Lets the body move

Rubber-glazed glass floats in its channel instead of becoming a structural member — which is why ladder-frame vehicles use it. The rubber has to stay compliant cold to keep doing that job.

  • Die cut in-house, corners moulded

Section die designed and cut here, profile extruded to length, corners moulded or vulcanised to your drawing. No external toolmaker and no split responsibility for the joint.

Industries served

Global Applications

  • Nepal

the largest export market for the Bolero and the biggest parked fleet outside India

  • Sri Lanka and Bhutan

a further fifth of Bolero exports between them

  • East and Southern Africa

Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique and Namibia

  • Automotive glazing

rear screens, quarter lights and fixed glazing on utility vehicles

  • Plant and agricultural cab glazing

the same profile seals a tractor or excavator cab

  • Bus and coach glazing

high-volume fixed glazing on the same extruded profile

Manufacturing process

From Compound to Certification

  1. Material compounding

Polymer blending, additive integration and batch QC in our in-house lab. The weathering package is set here — a glazing profile sits in direct sunlight for the life of the vehicle.

  2. Die design & cutting

Extrusion dies designed and cut in-house and held as a controlled record.

  3. Extrusion

Continuous profile at controlled temperature and line speed.

  4. Cure, cut and corner-mould

Continuous vulcanisation, cut to length, corners moulded or vulcanised into a closed frame.

  5. Quality inspection

Section profile check against the drawing, hardness testing and batch sampling before release.

  6. Export packaging

Coiled or cut-length packing with documentation. Glazing profiles are coiled to a minimum diameter and never folded — a kink will not seat against the glass. ISPM-15 treated pallets where timber packaging is used.

Quality assurance

Certified to International Standards

Every product leaves our facility with a documentation package — material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance — giving traceability from raw material to finished part.

Technical Documentation

The section drawing is the specification for a glazing profile — we issue it per part on request, under NDA where required. Tell us the part and the format you work in, PDF, DWG or DXF, and we will send what we hold.

FAQ

Technical & Commercial Questions

Answers to the most common questions from engineering teams and procurement managers worldwide.

  • What is the minimum order quantity for this part?

We supply in bulk. For extruded profile the minimum is quoted against the die and your annual metreage rather than a piece count; for moulded parts it is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound. Prototype and first-article lengths sit outside the minimum.

  • Can you match a competitor specification or reverse-engineer an existing part?

Yes. Send a 150 mm length of the existing rubber and we will section it, produce a dimensioned drawing and confirm compound before the die is cut. An old glazing rubber has taken a set and shrunk — we dimension to the original section, not to the aged sample.

  • What file formats do you accept for drawings?

PDF, DWG and DXF for the section. A dimensioned cross-section with tolerances is all we need to quote a profile — a 3D model is not required. If you only have a length of the old rubber, send that.

  • Do you provide material test reports with each shipment?

Yes. Material test reports, dimensional inspection sheets and a certificate of conformance ship with every consignment. Hardness, tensile to ASTM D412 and compression set to ASTM D395 Method B are tested in-house.

  • What are your payment and delivery terms for international orders?

TT and LC accepted, discussed per order. Ex-works Nashik or FOB Nhava Sheva. Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are issued with every consignment. Profile ships coiled or cut to length, as specified.

Need this part quoted?

Send your section drawing or a length of the existing rubber. We confirm compound, hardness and section, then quote against your annual metreage. We respond within 48 hours.
